Pulverized to a pulp
Showing up imperfectly is still showing up

Dear beautiful reader,
In full transparency, this month I wasn’t planning on showing up at all.
As life would have it, I’ve been completely pulverized to a pulp. (More on that, later.) When I first started this creative project nearly two years ago, the intention was that: every month, I would write a piece (poem/story/whatever) that would carry the value of a reader’s proverbial, and literal, dollar (keep the bar low, y’know). It was about showing up no matter what, however imperfectly. But then me being me, of course, eventually I’d go onto set the bar high with these long, thoughtful 30+ page stories (that I am very proud of, no doubt)… but somehow then fell into the trap of thinking: “Well, if it’s not at that caliber, then I can’t show up!”
Wrong! So here I am. This month’s piece is the blog post itself. I actually received a beautiful email today from a long-time reader, Dee, who was asking about my whereabouts. She wanted to make sure that I was okay and wanted to remind me how loved I was. I was deeply touched, and her email is what inspired me to write this today.
